Narayan Murthy Suggests 3-Shift Work For Infrastructure Sector Employees

Infosys founder NR Narayana Murthy has said that the government needs to complete infrastructure projects on priority and emphasised the need for three working shifts instead of one. Mr Murthy's comment came while discussing the requirement for Bengaluru's development in the next 5-10 years.  "Completing the Electronics City Metro and expanding to other areas, where there are a lot of companies located, must be prioritised," Mr Murthy said during a fireside chat with Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath at the Bengaluru Tech Summit held on November 29.  He urged the infrastructure industry to move beyond the traditional one-shift, "They should not work just one shift, come 11 am and go at 5 pm." He said that people in nations with ambitious aspirations often operate on two work shifts. He said if India embraced a similar approach, it could surpass China's growth. Delhi Lt Governor Clears Draft Plan For App-Based Cabs, Delivery Providers

Delhi is set to get a motor vehicle policy to regulate cab aggregators like Uber and Ola and food delivery services by Zomato and Swiggy, among others, after Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena cleared the plan. Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot said the policy will be notified this evening. Earlier, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had approved it. The highlights of this policy include a 2030 deadline to have only electric vehicles as app-based cabs in the national capital. The policy provides for the operation of bike taxis, only if they are electric. The policy will apply to service providers with a fleet of over 25 vehicles. The draft policy lists several requirements that cab aggregators must fulfil. These include cooperating with authorities in case of any incident and ensuring its driver partners have all necessary documents. The proposal also calls for "transparency" in terms of fare and its share to the driver partner. It also says the app must give the passenger the opti

Orhan Awatramani, also known as 'Orry' in a short span of time has become an internet favourite. The "Bollywood BFF" is often spotted partying and hanging out with celebrities including Jahnavi Kapoor, Nysa Devgan and Sara Ali Khan. The curiosity about his life has reached new heights ever since the Internet sensation declared, "I am living, I'm a liver." Now, an AI artist has reimagined Orry through the ages.  The viral sensation in the reimagined AI images can be seen posing with Mahatma Gandhi, Rabindranath Tagore, Albert Einstein, and Charlie Chaplin to name a few. Using AI software called Midjourney, the artist named Sahid was able to create lifelike depictions. The caption of the post reads, "We have been lied to! Box Office: Keeping Up With Salman Khan's Tiger 3

Tiger 3 minted ₹ 2.60 crore (all languages) on day 16 at the domestic box office, as per a Sacnilk report. The total collection of the Salman Khan-Katrina Kaif film stands at ₹ 273.8 crore. Tiger 3 , directed by Maneesh Sharma, witnessed a jump in its collection figures for day 15. The film made ₹ 6.75 crore, the report added. The third instalment of the Tiger franchise opened to theatres on November 12 (Diwali day). In the spy-thriller, Salman and Katrina reprise their roles as Avinash Singh Rathore aka Tiger and Zoya . The Indian Army "forged thunderstorms" at 11,500 feet near the Zojila Pass to stay battle-ready as the harsh winter set in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. The artillery regiment of the army, under the Northern Command, also known as the Dhruva Command, conducted an operational readiness exercise beyond the Zojila Pass in the treacherous mountains of Ladakh. The study, based on data from the UK Biobank, a massive biomedical database with information from over 467,000 people in the UK, used a model to predict the potential impact of lifestyle changes on lifespan. Amid China Pneumonia Scare, India Urges States To Review Measures

Amid a spike in respiratory illnesses among children in northern China, the government has initiated a review of the preparedness measures to combat such illnesses. The Centre said it is closely monitoring the situation and stressed that there is no need for any alarm. The Health Ministry has urged States and Union Territories (UTs) to conduct an immediate assessment of their public health and hospital preparedness measures. The directive emphasised the need to ensure adequate availability of human resources, hospital beds, essential medications, medical oxygen, antibiotics, personal protective equipment (PPE), testing kits, and reagents at hospitals.  Additionally, healthcare facilities must ensure the proper functioning of their oxygen plants and ventilators, and meticulously review infection control protocols to prevent the spread of infections, the Health minister said in its directive. China's health commission said a combination of pathogens is causing a surge in acute respiratory infections across the country, reiterating previous comments aimed at easing concerns a novel virus may be the source. The central agency has recovered some documents during the action that was carried out over the past few days, they told Press Trust of India.
